Privacy Policy

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how What Would You Do? handles information when you browse the site, vote, submit a dilemma or use other site features.

2. No public user accounts

You do not need a public account to vote or submit a dilemma. We do not ask voters for a name, postal address, phone number or social-media account.

3. Anonymous voting data

When you vote, the application stores the dilemma, the option selected, an anonymous browser identifier and the time of the vote. The identifier is used mainly to reduce repeat voting on the same dilemma. It is not intended to identify you by name.

4. Browser storage

The site uses local browser storage to remember things such as an anonymous voting identifier, dilemmas you have already voted on or recently viewed, and the number of extra random dilemmas shown during the day. This supports the voting experience and helps reduce duplicate voting.

You can clear browser storage using your browser settings. Doing so may reset these local controls.

5. Dilemma submissions

Submitted dilemma text and answer choices are stored so they can be moderated. Please do not include real names, contact details, addresses, social-media usernames or other information that identifies a private person.

Submissions may be approved, rejected, edited for limited moderation purposes, expired or removed. Rejected or removed records may be retained privately for moderation, safety and audit purposes.

6. Technical information

Our hosting, security and database providers may process normal technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP addresses, browser/request information and security logs. The application itself is designed not to intentionally store unnecessary IP-address data in its voting or submission tables.

7. Service providers

The site currently uses infrastructure such as Cloudflare for delivery/security and Supabase for database services. These providers process information as needed to provide their services and operate under their own terms and privacy documentation.

8. Analytics and advertising

The site uses lightweight first-party analytics to understand basic usage, such as page views, completed votes, completed submissions, extra-dilemma opens and share actions. The analytics records are designed to contain the event type, page path, an optional dilemma identifier and the time of the event.

Our own analytics table does not intentionally store your name, email address, IP address or a separate analytics browser identifier, and it does not set an analytics cookie. Hosting and security providers may still process normal technical request information as described above.

Advertising is not currently active. If advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies are introduced later, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before they are used.

9. How long information is kept

Published dilemmas and their voting totals may remain available indefinitely as part of the site archive. Pending submissions may expire after 30 days. Moderation records may be retained for longer where reasonably needed for safety, abuse prevention or audit purposes.

10. Security and limitations

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the service. However, no internet service or anonymous-voting system can be guaranteed completely secure, private or fraud-proof.

11. Your choices and contact

You can choose not to submit a dilemma, clear local browser data, or stop using the site. If a published dilemma contains your personal information or otherwise concerns you, contact us at beqabero15@gmail.com so it can be reviewed.

12. Changes

This policy may change as the site adds features such as analytics or advertising. The date at the top will be updated when material changes are made.
